East Hill Creamery Happy Accident Raclette | Revittle

Happy Accident is a raclette style cheese with a truly unique taste. Aged for 3-4 months, Happy Accident is still creamy and luscious, but with a distinctive tangy, fruity finish. Happy Accident will add an interesting twist to any dish, but we love it in fondue. Pairs well with a funky Spanish cider, strawberry jam, and sour beers.

East of Buffalo, New York, lies Wyoming County and on the eastern side of the county in the village of Perry on East Hill just due east of Silver Lake is East Hill Farm. East Hill Farm and Creamery is owned by Gary and Betty Burley, and participating in the operation of the Dairy and Creamery are four of their five children. Gary and Betty are two long-time Wyoming County dairy farmers and they are proud to be part of Wyoming County's rich dairy history. Starting with just 18 cows on 100 acres their herd has grown to over 700 cows grazing on 1000 acres, and about 60 of those cows make up the pampered "Cheese Herd."

All of the cheeses produced by East Hill Creamery originate from raw, unpasteurized cow's milk produced from their farm. Their cows graze on the usual mixture of indigenous grasses and other plants, including rye grass, white clover, blue grass, chicories, dandelions, daisies, and red clover. The natural grazing on the medley of grasses produces unique subtle flavors to their delicious cheeses. The climate and soil type of Wyoming County lends itself to the creation of some magnificent "Alpine" style cheese. Alpine cheese is traditionally made in the mountains from the milk of animals who have grazed in high mountain pastures yielding a rich, complex flavor. The flavors derive from the cows grazing on lush, and varied, seasonal grasses. East Hill Creamery has perfected and elevated this age-old process to create some simply amazing award winning cheeses.
